Health and Safety Products for Businesses
Although we don’t have a timeline for when physical distancing restrictions may be lifted or what restrictions will be lifted, it’s a good idea to start thinking about face coverings, hand sanitizer, barriers, shelters and signage. In many cases, there are options to have these supplied from Canada, which could mean a shorter delivery time but there could be a trade off in price.
Here are some recommendations from our team on different products you should be considering right now. Our team has been in contact with a number of suppliers for each of these items. Get in touch if you want to explore these products in more detail or discuss anything else you might need.
Face Coverings
The healthcare system is going to need access to any inventory of N95 face masks for the foreseeable future but it’s highly likely that people will prefer (or be required) to wear a face covering when going out in public. It’s been great to see people working together during the pandemic to make them at home and distribute them throughout the community.
You should think about having face coverings available for your staff and/or customers. We’ve seen lots of creative retailers bundle them with purchases or give them away when processing orders for delivery and/or takeout. If you wanted to put your branding on them, you could, but don’t feel obligated. There are a range of form factors to choose from including masks,
and what they call a “tubedana”:
We have a few suppliers of Canadian-made face coverings. Production is doing what it can to keep up with demand, so if you’re thinking about purchasing face coverings, get in touch to avoid a long delay.
Hand Sanitizer
I type this blog post with dry, chapped hands that are well-versed in the application of hand sanitizer. I would anticipate that people will be using hand sanitizer long after the restrictions are lifted. Like we do now, we’ll have bottles in our cars, in our travel bags and on our desks.
Of course businesses will likely have dispensers of it available at entrances and exits but having small, portable bottles available is likely a good idea so that we can reduce the number of people handling them. I have already seen some business bundling small bottles with face coverings for customers while also making them available for staff during their shifts.
There are a number of options you can consider for hand sanitizer. We like these small containers with clips on them so that they can be attached to clothing or equipment.
Sneeze Guards, Barriers, Tents and Shelters
Getting staff and customers safely into and out of retail locations is likely going to be a major concern once business are able to start reopening. We have been looking at a number of great solutions for keeping people at safe distance and here are just a few of things we’ve seen.
These “sneeze guards” are perfect to create separation at cash registers and checkout areas:
These branded barriers would be great for keeping long lines of people separated:
If you’re going to be doing pickup and servicing customers outdoors, we have seen a number of durable tents and shelters that can also be branded:
Interior and Exterior Signage
Once business reopens, we’re likely to be living in a world where people still need signage to help them navigate any physical distancing requirements while waiting for service. If you’ve been to a grocery store, you’ve likely seen the many ways that retailers are encouraging distancing between customers. Here are a few examples that are readily available and many of these can also be branded:
It is worth mentioning that you might also need custom designed signage to communicate any new procedures or policies around physical distancing that customers might need to be aware of. We have being designing and printing signage for our clients for decades.
We can do everything from simple foam board signs to pop-up banners. Here’s an example:
